A deft combination of fiction and business education
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)
Aesop's Fables were stories that, although fictional, carried an important lesson. "Edge! A Leadership Story" looks to follow that pattern as it presents the story of CEO Mitchell James. How he recovers from certain economic disaster is a tale sure to entertain and inform. "Edge!" effectively teaches the reader how to deal with management and leadership problems in today's world of business. A deft combination of fiction and business education, "Edge!" is highly recommended for community library business and fiction collections alike.
Order your copy today and save $5 on both the hardcover and paperback editions. |

China Girl reading guide is now online.
The lucky (or should we say “wise”?) readers who purchased advance copies of China Girl: A Daughter’s Journey in June are suggesting this novel for their book groups. To support this marvelous endeavor we’ve created a beautiful and easy to read Reader’s Guide with discussion questions; click here to download it. If your group would like a telephone visit with author Sophie Mokhtari, let us know! |

Amazing Results
Not ten days after Edge! was released, our author Bea Fields was hired by a new client based on their reading the book. Congratulations to Bea for her provocative message that is so quickly inspiring leaders around the world. |

Barrio author is helping at-risk youth.
Robert Renteria had a rough childhood, but rather than let his past dictate his future, he is using his experience to help today’s youth make better choices. The author of From the Barrio to the Board Room, Robert is sponsoring a variety of events that promote mentoring in his community of Aurora, the second largest city in Illinois:
- Supporting “Hoops on Fire” (a summer basketball program) and B’s Boxing Club in Aurora;
- Helping at-risk youth get the supplies they need to go back to school with the right tools. He donated a laptop computer to a Youth Rally raffle and 50 copies of his book to help with this event in Elgin, IL, on August 9th;
- Speaking to a conference of the Hispanic National Bar Association (July 11), to lend his support to a nationwide mentoring initiative; and
- When a local Latino honor student needed help raising the money to get to a summer leadership program at Princeton University, Robert championed the cause and recruited his colleagues at the Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, who generously provided a $2,000 scholarship from its foundation funds; and
- Provided financial support to send a 15 year-old Aurora wrestler to the 2008 Illinois USA Wrestling Championship finals in July.
We are proud to work with a man who is so dedicated to the message in his book and is actively living the words he has written! |

China Girl author is in print and on the air.
With advance copies of China Girl: A Daughter’s Journey in the hands of a select group of readers, reporters, and reviewers, Sophie Mokhtari is getting busy with interviews. She was the featured guest on LA Talk Radio’s “Question Reality” program on July 6. And several magazines (in print and online) have asked to review the book. We also got a request from a staff member at Harpo Productions (spell it backwards and you know whose show this is!).
P.S. If you want a taste of The Lemonade Series, we’ve got an audio excerpt (chapter 11) available online.

Update on upcoming books
We’ve had a busy year so far but there is so much more coming.
- Our first book for young readers, Duckey and the Ocean Protectors, is moving into production. The manuscript has been finalized and more than 20, vibrant illustrations by Maciej Zajac are being colored. We are on schedule for the October 1 release of this tale of a crew of mammals and marine animals on a quest to save the world’s ocean from ruin. Congratulations to the visionary John Sexton and his co-author, Katie Gutierrez Painter, for creating a magical story! We are currently gathering endorsements, so if you or someone you know believes strongly in saving the environment, please email us for an endorsement package!
- The third installment in Angelica Harris’ brilliant “Excalibur” series is nearing completion as well. Excalibur Reclaims Her King (co-authored by our indomitable Chairman of the Dream, Corey Blake) is in the final editing and proofreading stage. Our “Doer of Things Designed” Nathan Brown is creating a cover design that explodes off the page. This Arthurian tale takes a modern-day New York mom through a time gate to the days of Camelot where she must heal the wizard Merlin, raise King Arthur from the dead, and battle anarmy of heretics to unite the religions under Christ.
- Dr. Kay Vogt has almost finalized the first draft of her manuscript with the help of our team and co-author Jarret Rosenblatt. The Family Business is a non-fiction narrative that unravels the subtle dynamics underlying the drama ad often public fireworks of a family-owned business. The story is both entertaining and enlightening, whether you’re involved in a family business or just dealing with the business of being part of a family!
- The first draft of The Pilot, by Bill and Colleen Hensley, is coming in for a landing soon. The cover and website have been designed (by The Table’s Nathan Brown). This story blends jet pilot training with leadership building; it’s a book that is destined to really take off!
- Heather Leah Smith is partnering with The Table’s “Director of All Things Creative” Eva Silva Travers on the manuscript for The Corporate Madonna. Meanwhile, the cover concept is about to realize its first incarnation.

Keeping up with Corey
I have to say that last year we mastered the process of development, and this year we have mastered the art of creating a mind-blowing platform for our authors. Sue Publicover and her talented team (Kim, Eva, Lindsay, and Ryan) are doing exceptional work! The launch of EDGE! was a thrill ride (we made the top 20 in Business/Motivational books on Amazon!), and with China Girl coming out in the near future, followed by Duckey and the Ocean Protectors, our splash continues to get bigger and bigger. My next move is to begin announcing our books and our company to some bigger players. I am committing to sending out five impressive introductions per month over the next three months to some larger publishers, agents, and industry insiders. While I am out there with sword in hand, please join our reading group on Facebook, support the missions of our authors, and purchase these masterpiece books. You can always trust that everything we publish and promote has exceptional quality, and integrity behind it, and that we will always take you on a ride. After all, we publish experiences! Thanks for reading!
