Angelica Harris opens the Hall of Imagination.
It takes quite an imagination to send a present-day, New York mom into battle against an evil sorceress in the days of Camelot. So, it was no surprise to us when author Angelica Harris seized the opportunity to share her creativity with her community. Angelica is opening the Hall of Imagination at Frankie’s Playce, a children’s shop in Glendale, NY. The magical space was designed by Angelica herself and will allow children of all ages to explore fantasies, dress up as their favorite characters, and listen to Angelica read from a variety of fantasy stories including her own titles and her forthcoming Excalibur Reclaims Her King, co written by our own Corey Blake (Writers of the Round Table Press, December 2008).

IdeaMarketers puts Bea Fields in the lead.
One of the top article directories on the Internet, IdeaMarketers.com, has chosen our client Bea Fields to be its leadership expert. Marnie Pehrson, creator of the highly successful site (900,000 visitors monthly!), announced her choice last week. She said Bea “has consistently produced the highest quality articles, information, products and services related to leadership.” Well, we know that Bea is a leadership dynamo but we’re glad to see the news is spreading. See for yourself why Bea is a leader in leadership. Buy Millennial Leaders: Success Stories from Today’s Most Successful Gen Y Leaders. Robert Renteria helps teen get to Princeton.
When local high school junior and honor student Roberto Saenz set his sights on attending the 2008 Junior Statesman Summer Scholars Program at Princeton University, he sought help from local businesspeople to raise the $5,000 cost. Robert Renteria, author of From the Barrio to the Board Room, saw the fire in this teen and jumped in to help. Robert championed Roberto’s cause to his colleagues at the Aurora Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Their foundation contributed $2,000 to get Roberto to Princeton this summer! Great job, Robert! You’re a shining example of how our clients don’t just write books to become authors—they write books to make a difference and positively impact our world!

Duckey and friends get a new look.
The manuscript for John Sexton’s upcoming children’s book, Duckey and the Ocean Protectors, co-written by Katie Gutierrez, is in the final stages and our pre-launch marketing is ready to take the plunge. (Thanks to all who participated in our focus group and gave us invaluable feedback!) Meanwhile, illustrator, Maciej Zajac, has been bringing the story to life. Duckey is undergoing a few facelifts and our villain, Raiden, makes Jaws look like a sissy. Duckey and the Ocean Protectors is an exciting adventure of animals banding together to protect the world’s oceans. Look for Duckey to make a big splash October 1st!

U.S. Congressman endorses Barrio.
When Robert Renteria hosted the official launch of his book, From the Barrio to the Board Room, on April 25, he had a room full of guests who were mesmerized by his inspiring tale. One in particular was U.S. Congressman Bill Foster. After the event, Congressman Foster provided a heartfelt endorsement of Robert and his book: “From the Barrio to the Board Room is an inspiring tale, bringing the quintessentially American story of triumph over economic and social adversity to a new generation.” Click here to see photos of the representative with Robert and other guests at the launch.

Eva has a great Dream!
Eva Silva Travers, Director of All Things Creative here at The Table, spent a weekend In the Dreaming Room. This entrepreneurial vision camp is presented by the small business guru himself, Michael Gerber, author of the best-selling E-Myth book series. Michael has had a long-standing relationship with Corey Blake and there’s a buzz about exploring a more in-depth, strategic partnership between the two entities. “The Dreaming Room is about finding, remembering, creating, voicing, being intentional about...your passion,” said Eva when she returned. To read more about Eva’s experience, click here. You can also pre-order Eva's book, co-written with Bea Fields and Corey Blake: Edge! A Leadership Story.

Catching up with Corey
The last thirty days have been one heck of a thrill ride. Robert is out there making a difference, Sophie is out there making a difference, Bea is out there making a difference. I’m continually impressed by the courage and the drive of our clients as they move from creation into marketing and publicity and using their books to influence and change the world around them. Our next adventure is partnering with a distribution company who can assist our cause. Check out the sensational branding created by Sue Publicover and Nathan Brown and their teams; you’ll see the value of the messages and the entire package surrounding each brand (www.chinagirlbook.com, www.fromthebarrio.com, www.edge-book.com). These messages are worthy of worldwide distribution and we have reached the point in our growth where partnering with a distributor is the next step in our evolution. So while we get there: be well, lead well, and please support our authors by buying these books that they are pouring their hearts and souls into. Thanks for listening.
